These are a few steps businesses who are new to social media can take in 24 hours to get started.

Set Up a Business Profile

Business profiles have numerous benefits to track the progress of your profile. Making an Instagram business account should be a key feature of your digital marketing strategy. This feature is free and requires you to have a Facebook business profile, which should already be a part of your campaign.

Once you have set up your business profile, you will have access to Instagram Insights. Instagram provides this analytical feature that allows you to see users' engagement with your profile, including how many people view and share your posts and your profile.

The business account also allows you to have a contact feature in your bio. Do not forget to link to your company website in your bio. A link is essential to drive traffic and prospective customers to your site quickly.

Be active on the platform and fill your account with high-quality photos! For starters, write a killer bio that will captivate people who come to view your profile and make it clear what your company does.

Your posts should be aesthetically pleasing to make your company stand out and look more professional.

Be regular about creating stories and posts, so you stay at the top of customers' minds. While your posts should be high quality and edited, stories can be slightly more casual. Stories are a great way to connect with your customers because you can do polls and Q & A's.

Giveaways are a great way to bring more awareness to your company. To win the giveaway, you can have participants follow you and tag their friends on the post to increase engagement on your profile.

Get Followers

Now that your account is all set up and you are familiar with some of the features, it's time to get followers. To give your business credibility, you never want to follow more accounts than are following you. Ideally, your profile should have followers who are relevant and interested in your content because the ultimate goal is to convert those followers to customers.

The easiest way to gain these followers is to find complimentary accounts and follow their followers. Just be careful when following a lot of users at once. The following must be done in increments because if you follow more than about 200 accounts a day, Instagram will flag your account for spam.

You can also send a direct message to these accounts, offering them promo codes in return for following your account. Promo codes are a great way to attract new customers because everyone will accept an offer for a cheaper service! Again, Instagram limits this action to about 50-80 outgoing messages per day.

Another great promotion to leverage clients is offering discounts to customers that refer new customers to the business. The more proactive your company is about increasing the number of followers you have on your social accounts, the more brand awareness you generate to profit your company. An example of this strategy done well is uber. Every new rider referral gives and gets $5 off.
